5th Avenue Barbershop Quartet

 

The Quartet has been entertaining local audiences for eight years. Their repertoire includes

traditional barbershop, gospel, Broadway, patriotic and songs of the fifties and sixties.

Gray Poehler

Gray currently sings Lead in the quartet and has sung Baritone with other quartets.

Gray is the retired owner of Service Insurance Agency, Inc of Richmond, VA.

He is an avid golfer and volunteer business counselor with both the Richmond and 

Naples Chapters of SCORE. Gray has 4 children and 6 grandchildren. He joined the

Barbershop Harmony Society in1973 and is currently a dual member with the

Virginians and the Paradise Coastmen Chorus.

 

Larry Cunningham

Larry sings Bass with Fifth Avenue Quartet.  Larry has been a member of the Barbershop Harmony Society since 2008 and has sung with three other quartets.  As a past president of the Gulf Coast Harmonizers in Fort Myers, Larry is also an active member of that chorus. Prior to his retirement in 2010, Larry worked for 23 years as a Financial Advisor in Louisville, Kentucky, after working in sales and sales management with a Fortune 500 company, and spending several years working in radio and television news.  Larry lives in Fort Myers with his wife Peggy.  They have two adult daughters, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

 

 

Richard Klym

Richard sings Baritone in the quartet but started as a Lead in grade school in Parma, Ohio.

He sang in quartets all through high school and college and joined the Barbershop Society 

in 1969.  Richard worked in manufacturing in Cleveland and has summered in France since

 2002. Singing Baritone is a “second” melody to Richard and he says Barbershop harmony

is an essential part of his life.

 

Fran Page

Fran sings Tenor and has sung in many organized quartets over his near 70 - year membership in the Barbershop Harmony Society. He has the distinction of having won the Northeastern district quartet competition four times in four decades. Fran worked in the aerospace division of General Electric, was married to Sheila for 59 years, has five children, eleven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
